Kelly & Associates and TEKsystems Data Breach

Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating Kelly & Associates Insurance Group Inc. and TEKsystems, Inc. for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around. Kelly & Associates d/b/a Kelly Benefits, a Maryland-based benefits administration, technology services and payroll provider, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within its systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place between December 12 and December 17, 2024.

Though the data security breach was discovered in mid-December 2024, the Companies only began notifying impacted consumers in late April 2025. The companies sent out letters to consumers on behalf of several impacted Kelly clients including Amergis, Beam Benefits, Beltway Companies, CareFirst, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Intercon Truck of Baltimore, Publishers Circulation Fulfilment, Quantum Real Estate Management, and Transforming Lives.

Kelly Benefits and TEKsystems have indicated that approximately 260,000 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include name, date of birth, SSN, tax ID number, medical information, health insurance information, and financial account information.

The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
