Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating JSP International Group Ltd. (“JSP”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected in early 2025 according to public information. JSP, a global manufacturing company serving a variety of markets like automotive and HVAC industries with its US headquarters in Pennsylvania, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within JSP’s systems.
Though JSP International began mailing letters to individuals whose personal information was impacted by the breach on February 7, 2025, they have not provided information on when this data breach took place and how long its information systems were compromised. JSP has also not released information that indicates approximately how many consumers have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include name, Social Security number, driver’s license and/or government identification number, medical information, health insurance information, and financial account information.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
