GMC Yukon Denali Engine Issues

Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is launching an investigation into the 2024 GMC Yukon Denali after many consumers have taken to online forums to report concerns that the vehicle is experiencing engine issues that may lead to safety risks.

The issues appear to be linked to the Denali’s L87 6.2L V8 engine, a powertrain found in many General Motors vehicles since 2019, including the GMC Yukon.

The Alleged GMC Yukon Denali Defect

According to online reports, this alleged engine defect could be a result of a failure of the connecting rod bearings which could break, potentially piercing the engine and shutting the vehicle down. This alleged defect can cause the vehicle to shut down unexpectedly and lose power without warning – should this happen on the road, it can create a serious safety risk for consumers.

Affected consumers have described experiencing:

  • Sudden stalls or complete engine shutdowns
  • Unexpected drops in oil pressure
  • Knocking or ticking noises coming from the engine
  • A flickering or illuminated check engine light

In many cases, these signs appear without warning and leave drivers with little to no time to react before the engine fails.
