Shub & Johns and Co-Counsel File Class Action Suit against McLaren Health Care after Data Breach put Approximately 2.5 Million Individuals at Risk of Fraud
On October 5, 2023, Shub & Johns LLC, along with Co-Counsel, filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against the McLaren Health Care Corporation for a recent data breach that exposed patient information of approximately 2.5 million individuals who entrusted their sensitive personal information to McLaren.
According to the complaint, the Michigan-based healthcare system learned on October 3, 2023 that an unauthorized party – the cybercriminal group known as Alphv/BlackCat – gained access to McLaren’s information network, accessing files that contained current and former patients’ data. Patient information exposed in the breach may vary, but at this moment McLaren has not indicated what information may have been impacted.
