Shub & Johns Attorney appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel in East River Medical Imaging Consolidated Class Action
A New York court recently appointed Shub & Johns LLC Partner, Benjamin F. Johns, as Interim co-Lead Counsel in a consolidated class action lawsuit against East River Medical Imaging, P.C. (“East River”) after a data breach allegedly exposed individuals’ private health and identification information.

Data Breach at East River Medical Imaging, P.C.
Around November 22, 2023, East River Medical Imaging, a New York-based healthcare provider and servicer, began notifying individuals that their information was involved in a data breach that exposed personal identification information, health information, and financial information.
The company learned of the security breach on September 20, 2023 and immediately conducted an investigation. East River determined that between August 31, 2023 and September 20, 2023, an unauthorized party gained access to confidential consumer information through the company’s servers. Through further investigation, East River discovered that approximately 606,000 individuals’ information was affected.
Information including names, contact information, financial account information, Social Security number, and/or driver’s license number may have been affected.
East River Class Action Lawsuit
On December 5, 2023, Shub & Johns LLC filed a class action lawsuit against the East River for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals.
On February 5, 2024, the Supreme Court of the State of New York for the County of New York granted Plaintiff’s motion to consolidate matters regarding the data breach at East River. The court also appointed Benjamin F. Johns, a seasoned litigator at Shub & Johns LLC, as Interim co-Lead Class Counsel in the East River data breach Litigation.
