Tekni-Plex Data Breach – Benjamin F. Johns appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel

A Pennsylvania court recently appointed Shub Johns & Holbrook Partner Benjamin F. Johns as interim co-lead class counsel in a data breach class action lawsuit against Tekni-Plex, Inc.

The Tekni-Plex data breach has allegedly impacted personal identifiable information that was stored in its data systems, potentially putting individuals at risk of fraud and suspicious activity. Full names, social security, and other sensitive information may have been included in the breach.

Tekni-Plex Data Breach

On or around November 18, 2024, Tekni-Plex, Pennsylvania-based medical device component and material solutions provider, discovered that its private consumer data had been impacted through a cybersecurity incident.

According to the notice letter, the unauthorized party had access to Tekni-Plex’s consumer information between October 24 and December 27, 2024. Tekni-Plex did not begin notifying consumers until September 25, 2025. It is still unconfirmed how many consumers were impacted by the breach.

The sensitive information reportedly exposed in the breach includes the following

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information

Lead Attorneys in Tekni-Plex Case

On September 30, 2025, Shub Johns & Holbrook filed a class action lawsuit against Tekni-Plex for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals.

On October 30, 2025, the Court granted Plaintiffs’ motion to appoint interim co-lead counsel and to consolidate related actions against Tekni-Plex concerning the November 2024 data breach. In its order, the United States Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania appointed Benjamin F. Johns, a Partner with Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP, as Interim Co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs in the action, alongside co-counsel.
