Subaru WRX Excessive RTV Sealant & Engine Failure Investigation

Shub Law Firm LLC is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of 2022 model year Subaru WRX vehicles for a potential defect that may be responsible for engine failure and oil starvation. Specifically, Shub Law is investigating whether these vehicles are equipped with excessive RTV silicone sealant. This sealant is designed to seal the components in the engine block, but due to excessive amounts being applied it instead makes its way into the oil pan, starves the engine of oil, and ultimately clogs and destroys the vehicle’s engine.

RTV is stands for “room temperature vulcanizing,” and refers to the silicone curing at room temperature. It has been reported that RTV fluid has been found in the oil pan of Subaru WRX vehicles. Further, removing the excessive RTV is a labor intensive repair.
