Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating SimonMed Imaging for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around in January 2025. SimonMed, an Arizona-based medical imaging facility that provides services across ten US states, discovered that an unauthorized ransomware group gained access to client data within SimonMed’s systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place between January 21 and February 5, 2025.
Though the data security breach was discovered in late 2025, the Company did not publicly announce the breach until April 2025 and likewise did not begin notifying affected consumers until October 10, 2025. SimonMed Imaging has indicated that approximately 1,275,669 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include:
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
