Mechanic working on the underside of a vehicle.Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP launches an investigation into Mercedes-Benz following consumer reports that certain Mercedes vehicles, namely 2020 –  2023 GLE 450 and GLS 450 models, may be experiencing a possible defect linked to the vehicle’s transmission control unit. In some instances, GLE/GLS 600 models may also be experiencing similar alleged defects.

Consumers and owners of the vehicle may be experiencing transmission control unit issues that may be causing vehicles to stall and lose propulsion. Reports have indicated that this can occur when the vehicle may be slightly decelerating; as a result of an incomplete downshift from the 7th to 6th gear; due to low transmission oil temperatures; or when the starter-alternator is recuperating energy.

This alleged defect can lead to unnecessary risks on the road, potentially causing collisions. This may not only put the driver and passengers in danger, but others on the road as well!
