Iron Mountain – Data Storage Company may be Illegally Raising Rates for Customers

Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP launch an investigation into Iron Mountain, Inc. for allegedly overcharging its clients by violating the terms of its contract with consumers, and raising rates beyond permitted levels.

Iron Mountain is a data management service provider. The company offers cloud-based data storage services and operates in-person data centers for physical documents or material. Many consumers trust Iron Mountain to keep their data and information safely stored, whether its through the cloud or located at one of its data centers. But are they scamming their own clients?

Some reports from consumers have indicated that Iron Mountain may be illegally raising the rates for its services on an annual basis, potentially charging consumers much more than is permitted by the contract between client and Iron Mountain. If unnoticed this can cost the client thousands of dollars for Iron Mountain’s deceptive business practices.

This does not seem to be a recent change in Iron Mountain’s operations with some consumers reporting that this has been going on for over 10 years. A previous lawsuit against Iron Mountain settled after the company had been accused of overcharging federal agencies for data storage services. Iron Mountain may be continuing this deceptive practice.
