Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating Healthcare Services Group, Inc., (“HSGI”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around October 7, 2024.

HSGI, a Pennsylvania-based operational support company outsourcing services to nursing homes and medical facilities, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within HSGI’s systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place between September 27 and October 3, 2024.

Though the data security breach was discovered in October 2024, the Company did not begin notifying impacted individuals until August 25, 2025. HSGI has indicated that approximately 624,000 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include:

• Full name
• Social Security number
• Driver’s license number
• State identification number
• Financial account information
• Account access credentials

The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
