After a comprehensive investigation concluding on September 3, 2024, Gryphon discovered that consumers information was directly impacted by the breach and began delivering notices to these affected individuals on or around October 11, 2024. Gryphon has indicated that approximately 400,000 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of service, diagnosis information, health insurance information, medical treatment information, prescription information, provider information and medical record numbers.

The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
