General Motors Vehicles Coated with Defective Paint Can Cause Cracks
Shub & Johns LLC launches investigation into General Motors after consumers report that some of its vehicles are coated with defective paint that can lead to cracking, peeling, or delamination resulting in expensive repairs. Potentially impacted vehicles include:
- 2015 – 2020 Chevrolet Tahoes
- 2015 – 2020 Chevrolet Suburbans
- 2015 – 2020 GMC Yukons
- 2015 – 2020 Yukon XLs
- 2015 – 2020 Cadillac Escalades
Consumers raise concerns over their GM vehicles that are experiencing issues with the paint on their vehicles, claiming that their vehicles are potentially suffering from a clearcoat issue. This alleged and latent defect seemingly manifests after some time with the vehicle, but can result in peeling, cracking, flaking, bubbling, or delamination of the vehicle’s clearcoat.
Consumers purchase these vehicles expecting them to be of high quality and to be manufactured using high quality materials and parts. Seemingly however, General Motors coated these vehicles with a defective paint that can result in hundreds or thousands of dollars just to repair.
General Motors may have known or at least should have known of this latent issue with their vehicles but elected to continue selling the vehicle even with this alleged defect. Owners and Drivers are therefore left to address the manufacturing problem themselves, potentially incurring serious expenses alongside the depreciation of their vehicle’s value.
