Firearm Distributors may be Disclosing Customer Data to other Companies

The private data of Pennsylvania firearms purchasers has potentially been shared with third parties for advertising and marketing purposes. This jeopardizes the privacy and security of firearms purchasers, who in many cases may not even realize that their data has been shared. 

Firearms distributors who sell or share their customers’ personal information may be in violation of a Pennsylvania statute (1 Pa.C.S. § 6111(i)) that is designed to protect customers’ peace of mind and maintain the confidentiality of their data.
