On or around April 6, 2023, Community Health Systems announced that a cybersecurity breach left its servers susceptible to attack. Around January 30, 2023, the company left private client information vulnerable to outside agents resulting in an unknown actor being able to access their customers’ information, leaving over 900,000 individuals at risk.

Community Health Systems is a healthcare company that runs six hospitals in Alabama. Information such as Demographic information to identify and contact the patient, such as full name, date of birth, and address; Social Security numbers; diagnoses, medication, and potentially much more has been exposed.
