Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating Century Support Services (“Century”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around November 7, 2024. Century, a debt settlement firm based out of Pennsylvania, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within Century’s systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place between July 25, 2024 and July 26, 2024.

Though the data security breach was discovered in November 2024, could not confirm what information was impacted until May 30, 2025 and did not notify impacted consumers of the data breach until notices were delivered on or around June 27, 2025. Century has indicated that approximately 160,759 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include:

  • Full Names
  • Dates of Birth
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Driver’s License and/or State Identification Numbers
  • Passport Numbers
  • Financial Account Information
  • Digital Signatures

The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
