CVP Data Breach

Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating CEI Vision Partners (“CVP”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around May 26, 2024. CEI Vision Partners, an Ohio-based management services organization that operates alongside eye care practices, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within CVP’s systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place between May 24 and May 27, 2024.

Though the data security breach was discovered in May 2024, the CVP did not publicly acknowledge the data breach until August 12, 2025 – consumers should expect a notice of the breach soon. CVP has not indicated the approximate number of individuals that have been impacted by the breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include:

• Full Name
• Social Security Number
• Date of Birth
• Financial Account Information
• Health Insurance Information

The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
