Cadillac Escalade Rear Camera Gridlines Allegedly Malfunctioning

Shub & Johns launches investigation into the 2023 Cadillac Escalade after owners and drivers take to online forums to voice their concerns with the vehicle’s rear back up and parking camera. Drivers have reportedly experienced glitches while attempting to use the back up camera that limits the vehicle’s parking assistance.

Owners and lessees of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade have reported glitches with the rear-facing parking camera equipped with the vehicle, namely indicating that the gridlines are not activated on the camera’s display that may affect the parking ability of the driver. Many modern vehicles contain functioning back up cameras equipped with the gridline safety feature to guide drivers while parking or exiting a parking spot or driveway. With this feature malfunctioning, it may lead to vehicle damage or other road risks.

Some dealerships have provided vehicle software updates that aim to fix bugs potentially reducing functionality to the vehicle’s electronic systems, but for some drivers these software updates have not seemed to cure the display defect. Some drivers may rely on this setting to assist with parking, for others the parking camera features may have been a factor into purchasing this vehicle. This alleged defect may not only limit the safety features of the vehicle but may mean that owners paid full price for a vehicle containing a display malfunction without a clear fix.
