Entertainment Partners – Court grants Final Approval of $9.5M Settlement in EP Global Data Breach Class Action

The California court presiding over a class action suit against Entertainment Partners, or EP Global,  for a data breach impacting consumers’ personal identifiable information nationwide recently approved Plaintiffs’ Motion for Final Approval of its $9.5 million class action settlement. Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP attorneys have been appointed co-lead Class Counsel.

The deadline to submit claims pursuant to the settlement has expired. Class members who have submitted claims may be able to anticipate payments later this year.

Data Breach at Entertainment Partners

On July 31, 2023, EP Global Production Solutions, or Entertainment Partners (“EP Global”), began notifying individuals that their information was involved in a data breach that exposed individuals’ personally identifying information (“PII”).

The company learned that it had experienced a cybersecurity attack on June 30, 2023, and immediately conducted an investigation. Through its investigation, EP Global discovered that an unauthorized party had gained access to the company’s information systems. Through further investigation, EP Global discovered that approximately 459,000 individuals’ PII was impacted.

Information including names, mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, and/or tax identification numbers were acquired by the unauthorized third party.

Final Approval of the EP Global Settlement

On August 17, 2023, Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP filed a class action lawsuit against Entertainment Partners for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals.

On August 10, 2024, Plaintiffs filed a motion for preliminary approval of a class action settlement, with a $9.5M settlement fund. The Court granted Plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval on September 10, 2024, appointing Shub Johns & Holbrook as Co-Lead Class Counsel for the settlement.

On February 18, 2025, the Court held a hearing on Final Approval of the class settlement, with SJ&H attorneys, Jonathan Shub and Samantha Holbrook, present. Following the hearing on February 25, 2025, the Honorable Judge Samantha Jessner granted final approval of the settlement. The deadline to submit claims pursuant to the settlement has expired. Class members who have submitted claims may be able to anticipate payments later this year.
