An alleged data breach with Deaconess Health System and MRO Corp. has impacted the personal identifiable and private information, potentially putting these individuals at risk of fraud and suspicious activity.
Did you receive a letter from MRO or Deaconess alerting you that your information was impacted by the cybersecurity incident? Do you otherwise have reason to believe you were directly impacted? Fill out the form below and join the investigation!
Shub Johns & Holbrook LLP is currently investigating Deaconess Health System (“Deaconess”) and MRO Corp. (“MRO”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in an alleged data breach that was detected on or around February 2, 2026. Deaconess, an Indiana-based healthcare system, reportedly discovered that a third party information vendor had discovered that an unauthorized actor had gained access to its data system on or around January 13, 2026.
The third party information vendor MediCopy, an MRO-owned cloud based file-sharing software, was put in charge of Deaconess’s release of information requests, though MRO claims that MediCopy’s IT system and health record system were not compromised in the breach.
Details on the breach are still being investigated and individuals whose information was impacted in the breach will be notified according to Deaconess.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
Have you recently received a data breach notification from Deaconess/MRO about the MediCopy cybersecurity incident? Have you experienced any fraud or misuse of your information potentially as a result of the data breach? Let us know!
