Tri-Century Eyecare Data Breach – Benjamin F. Johns appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel

A Bucks County court recently appointed Shub Johns & Holbrook Partner Benjamin F. Johns as interim co-lead class counsel in a data breach class action lawsuit against Tri-Century Eyecare (“Tri Century”).

The Tri Century data breach has allegedly impacted personal identifiable information that was stored in its data systems, potentially putting patients and similar individuals at risk of fraud and suspicious activity. Full names, social security, and other sensitive information may have been included in the breach.

Tri-Century Eyecare Data Breach

On or around September 19, 2025, Tri-Century Eyecare, Pennsylvania-based healthcare group, announced that private patient data and employee information stored in its files had been impacted through a cybersecurity incident.

According to the notice letter, the unauthorized party had access to Tri Century’s consumer information on or before September 3, 2025. Tri-Century did not begin notifying consumers until late October 2025. Tri Century learned that the data breach impacted the private information of about 200,000 individuals.

The sensitive information reportedly exposed in the breach includes the following

  • Names
  • Social Security number
  • Dates of birth
  • Medical or health information
  • Healthcare treatment or diagnostic information
  • Health insurance information
  • Financial account information

Lead Attorneys in Tri Century Eyecare Case

On October 13, 2025, Shub Johns & Holbrook filed a class action lawsuit against Tri Century for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals.

On December 15, 2025, the Court granted Plaintiffs’ motion to appoint interim co-lead counsel and to consolidate related actions against Tri Century concerning the data breach.

In its order, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Bucks County appointed Benjamin F. Johns, a Partner with SJ&H, as Interim Co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs in the action, alongside co-counsel.
