Shub & Johns amend class action complaint against Procter & Gamble after Febreze products reportedly damage Cars
On July 12, 2023, Shub & Johns Partner, Benjamin F. Johns, filed a class action lawsuit against Procter & Gamble in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. The case name is Boykin et al v. The Procter & Gamble Company, No. 1:23-cv-0427. On September 28, 2023, Shub & Johns, along with co-counsel, amended their initial complaint as more consumers report that they experienced similar issues initially alleged.
Procter & Gamble is a widely known company and is responsible for the manufacture of several household products including Febreze. One of Febreze’s products, the CAR Vent Clip, has reportedly damaged consumers’ vehicles potentially as early as 2018. Drivers and consumers alike claim that the vent clip allegedly leaked its fluid onto the interior of their vehicles, in some cases causing damage to the center console, the entertainment system, carpet, or dashboard of the vehicle. With complaints going back over half a decade, some consumers may wonder why hasn’t Procter & Gamble done anything to fix this?
Across the United States, consumers have purchased the Febreze CAR vent clip to freshen up their cars, trucks, and SUVs, but consumers around the nation might not have purchased the product if they knew it may have been negligently manufactured, potentially leading to irreparable harm done onto their vehicle. With this issue potentially affecting a whole class of drivers and consumers, the attorneys at Shub & Johns have taken action.
