East River Medical Imaging Data Breach
Shub & Johns attorneys filed the first putative class action lawsuit against East River on December 5, 2023 in the Supreme Court of New York for New York County. On February 5, 2024, the Court issued an order appointing S&J partner Benjamin F. Johns one of two Interim Co-Lead Plaintiffs’ Counsel. A single consolidated complaint was filed on March 26, 2024.
Preliminary Approval of the East River Settlement
On April 16, 2024, Shub & Johns, along with its co-counsel, filed an unopposed motion for preliminary approval of a class action settlement.
UPDATE (June 28, 2024): On June 24, 2024, Shub & Johns attorneys Samantha E. Holbrook and Benjamin F. Johns attended a hearing in New York Superior Court after filing an unopposed motion for preliminary approval of a class action settlement in April. Individuals impacted by the breach will be notified and have the chance to submit a claim before the final approval hearing set on October 22, 2024. Eligible class members can submit a claim online via the settlement site, which you can access here. The deadline for eligible consumers to submit a claim is October 22, 2024.
