SHUB LAW FIRM INVESTIGATES SUBARU VEHICLES FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMPS

Subaru is one of the leading manufacturers of automobiles in the world. For decades, Subaru has been manufacturing and selling automobiles worldwide, including in the United States. Over the years, consumers have come to expect reliable vehicles when purchasing a Subaru.

A recent class-action lawsuit filed in a New Jersey federal court, however, alleges that certain Subaru vehicles contain defective fuel pumps that allegedly cause unpredictable acceleration and engine stalls. This lawsuit comes on the heels of other class-action lawsuits filed in Alabama and Hawaii.

The suit seeks to represent at least 200,000 people who own or lease Subaru vehicles with “Denso low-pressure fuel pumps and fuel pump assemblies.” It is alleged that Subaru is aware of the defect because the company announced a recall in April for 2019 Outback, Ascent, Impreza and Legacy models. However, the lawsuit alleges that “a substantial number” of cars with the alleged defect have not been recalled yet. That means many Subaru owners are left to repair the fuel pump at their own cost.
