Shub Law Files Class Action Lawsuit Against CentraState Healthcare System for Personal Information Data Breach

On February 20, 2023, Shub Law filed a class action lawsuit against CentraState Healthcare, a health organization based in Freehold, New Jersey, for a recently-announced data breach.The data breach occurred on or around December 29, 2022 and exposed the sensitive patient information. CentraState did not announce the data breach publicly until on or around February 10, 2023, when it began notifying consumers that their data had been compromised. The data breach impacted the sensitive health information of over 617,000 customers.

The lawsuit alleges that consumers whose information was compromised now face a heightened risk of identity theft and fraud. The comprised information includes consumers names, addresses, dates of birth, social security numbers, medical records, health insurance information and patient account numbers. The class action seeks to cover a class of all United States residents whose private information was compromised in the data breach notice published by CentraState.
