Shub Law Firm is investigating claims against numerous popular CBD beverage companies for falsely labeling the amount of cannabidiol (CBD) in their drinks.
So far, the FDA has only taken regulatory action against CBD products that made false health claims or contained harmful substances, like heavy metals. However, studies have consistently shown that companies are making false claims about the amount of cannabidiol content present in their CBD beverages. Currently, there are no FDA regulations to monitor the cannabidiol content in these beverages. Shub Law continues its investigation into the deceptive advertising practices in the CBD industry.
HOW COMMON IS FALSE LABELING AMONG CBD BEVERAGES?
Independent testing conducted by Leafreport, a company dedicated to researching and reviewing different CBD products, indicates that a surprising amount of CBD drinks make false claims about their cannabidiol content. In July of 2020, Leafreport tested 22 different CBD beverage brands and found that over half of the products tested contained less cannabidiol than advertised. These brands include but are not limited to, CBD Living Water, CBD Living Sparkling Water Peach Honey, Sweet Reason Sparkling Water, and more. Some brands, like Blue Label Naturals CBD Water and Sativa CBD Water, didn’t contain any CBD at all.
