Vivek Ramaswamy & Campaign Team Robo-Calls Potentially Violate TCPA
Shub & Johns opens investigation into Vivek Ramaswamy and his campaign team after consumers reportedly receive excessive pre-recorded calls from Ramaswamy and his team during his campaign run.
Though Ramaswamy is no longer in the running to be the Republican Presidential candidate, his campaign still allegedly made several robo calls with a prerecorded and misleading message from Vivek Ramaswamy without ever gaining the express consent from consumers they were calling. These attempted and recurring robo calls to potential voters is in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), in which promotional or advertising prerecorded calls cannot be made to telephone lines without the consent of the consumer.
Consumers receiving multiple automated calls from Ramaswamy’s campaign team with the intention of either securing a vote or a donation to the campaign when many consumers are not consenting to these calls is unethical and in violation of the TCPA.
