Nissan Altima Potentially Equipped with Defective Back Up Cameras

Shub & Johns LLC launches investigation into Nissan after drivers of 2023 and 2024 Nissan Altima models report of negative and potentially dangerous experiences with the vehicles’ back up camera. Owners and Lessees take to online forums to voice their concerns with their Nissan Altima.

Drivers have become concerned with the Nissan Altima’s back up camera after a consumer complaint indicated that the back up camera equipped with 2023 and 2024 models of the Nissan Altima, including SL models, are reportedly too bright. The back up camera reportedly does not have accessible setting for users to adjust, leaving drivers to deal with the alleged defect. A bright rearview camera screen may prevent drivers from accurately examining their surroundings, potentially leading to dangerous or avoidable situations.

While this is an issue for drivers – causing many owners to continue driving a vehicle without a functional back up camera – this issue can also become a safety risk for pedestrians. Drivers unable to view their rear surroundings may not be able to see a pedestrian walking through the vehicle’s path, leaving individuals at risk of being hurt.
