MEDTRONIC VIOLATES INPEN APP USERS’ PRIVACY

Medtronic is an American medical device company. Medtronic reportedly discovered tracking and authentication tools used on its diabetes management app disclosed certain information about users. Information including personal data and their InPen activity was allegedly disclosed to google. Further, if a consumer was logged into their google account at the same time as they were logged into the app, there is an extremely likely chance that information was disclosed to Google.

Information potentially disclosed includes user’s email, addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, InPen usernames and passwords, certain unique identifiers tied to consumers InPen accounts or mobile devices and potentially much more.
