Shub & Johns Attorney appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel in Azura Vascular Care Consolidated Class Action
A Pennsylvania court recently appointed Shub & Johns LLC Partner, Benjamin F. Johns – along with Co-Counsel – as Interim co-Lead Counsel in a consolidated class action lawsuit against Fresenius Vascular Care, Inc. d/b/a Azura Vascular Care (“Azura”) after a data breach allegedly exposed individuals’ private health and identification information.

Data Breach at Azura Vascular Care
Around January 13, 2024, Azura Vascular Care, a Pennsylvania-based healthcare provider, began notifying individuals that their information was involved in a data breach that allegedly exposed client and patient names, social security numbers, mailing addresses, dates of birth, demographic information, emergency contact information, insurance policy and guarantor information, diagnosis information, and other medical information.
The company learned of the security breach on September 27, 2023 and immediately conducted an investigation. Azura determined that on or around September 27, 2023, an unauthorized party gained access to confidential consumer information through the company’s servers. Through further investigation, Azura discovered that approximately 348,000 individuals’ information was affected.
Azura Class Action Lawsuit
On March 20, 2024, Shub & Johns LLC filed a class action lawsuit against the East River for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals.
On April 30, 2024, the Pennsylvania Court granted Plaintiff’s March 26th motion to consolidate matters regarding the data breach at Azura. The court also appointed Benjamin F. Johns, a seasoned litigator at Shub & Johns LLC, as Interim co-Lead Class Counsel in the Azura data breach Litigation.
