SHUB LAW FIRM INVESTIGATES MISLEADING CLAIMS MADE BY TOM BRADY AND HIS TB12™ PROTECT IMMUNITY VITAMINS

Shub Law Firm is investigating claims against Tom Brady and his company, TB12™, for making misleading claims about a new vitamin supplement he is selling that purportedly enhances the immune system.

On the TB12™ website, Brady and his company advertise a supplement called “VITALFIT™ X TB12™ PROTECT.” The website purports that “Protect helps activate your immune system and counter stress-induced immune suppression so you can stay active, resilient, and ready for whatever comes your way.” The PROTECT product also claims to support natural killer cells to replenish antibodies post-exercise.

In May 2020, Brady took to social media to tout his new supplement. In an Instagram video, Brady claimed the PROTECT vitamins are vital for health and well-being. The timing of Brady’s post has been the subject of scrutiny. Some have claimed that Brady is trying to capitalize off of the coronavirus pandemic. Brady doesn’t mention the coronavirus in his video, but emergency physician and medical toxicologist Ryan Marino has doubts about Brady’s claims. Marino stated, “I have a number of concerns . . . The biggest one is, the timing of this, and releasing something with specific mention and marketing about the immune system and antiviral properties in a global viral pandemic. It’s definitely suspect to me.” See Forbes Article.

It is important to note that the PROTECT supplement is not FDA approved. Because supplements are not considered drugs under FDA, they are not put through the same strict safety and effectiveness requirements that drugs are. So, when Brady claims that the PROTECT vitamins can “activate” someone’s immunity, it is important to seriously consider whether the PROTECT supplement actually lives up to the representations Brady makes.

Shub Law Firm has doubts and whether Brady’s claims live up to the hype. For one, there simply is not enough evidence that can support Brady’s product claims. Plus, at $45 a bottle, consumers are paying a price premium for a product that may not actually contain the benefits as advertised.
