Rivers Casino in Philadelphia Experiences Data Breach
Shub & Johns LLC is currently investigating Rivers Casino Philadelphia for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive consumer information in a data breach that was detected on or around November 18, 2024. Rivers Philadelphia, a casino organization managed and operated by Rust Street Gaming and Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, discovered that an unauthorized actor gained access to client data within Rivers Philadelphia’s information systems. Through further investigation, it was determined that the breach took place on or before November 18, 2024
Rivers Philadelphia has not indicated approximately how many individuals were impacted by the breach. The casino began notifying impacted individuals via mailed notice on December 30, 2024 of the data breach. Consumer information exposed in the breach may vary but can include name, social security number, bank account information used for direct deposit, and potentially more.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised consumer information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
