Consumers have shown concern that Insinkerator garbage disposals may be experiencing corrosion that can lead to subsequent leakages. Consumers are worried that this corrosion of the garbage disposal may lead to more problems than just a leaky pipe.

Leaky Insinkerator garbage disposals?

Insinkerator is an American brand owned by the Whirlpool Corporation that produces hot water dispensers and food waste disposal systems, or more commonly referred to as garbage disposals. Recently, these garbage disposals have become a talking point for some consumers due to a potential defect that is causing leaks, including the Badger Series of the Insinkerator.

Consumers have noticed leaks dripping from the sides or from the bottom of the garbage disposal unit after some years of use. Some consumers who have voiced their concerns indicate that these leaks tend to manifest where the reset button is located, or around the power cord or through the screws located on the bottom of the unit.

This can be of real concern to consumers who own the product, potentially requiring them to pay out-of-pocket expenses for a replacement of the same or similar product that may also be equipped with the alleged defect. Alternatively, the leaks can cause serious water damage to the disposal’s surrounding property such as the kitchen cabinets, and flooring.
