Owners and drivers of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD may notice issues when they attempt to use the towing function of their vehicle. Whether livestock trailers, campers, or cargo trailers, consumers are reportedly receiving error codes when in tow. Consumers indicate that they receive intermittent, but frequent, warnings indicating the consumer to “check trailer wiring.” This warning would has coincided with brake systematic failure, causing issues with the brake system’s functions when drivers press down on the brake pedal.
Though the initial warning may indicate that trailer wiring has been disconnected, this may be the result of a manufacturing defect that may not easily be fixed or remedied by the driver of the Silverado. This can be very dangerous for drivers and others on the road, putting many at risk of serious injury if the brake system for the trailer does not work.
